In QCCI Meeting with an Austrian Delegation 
 
 

Brunomer Pottage   : Boosting Cooperation in Tourism & Industry

Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry (QCCI) last Thursday  held a meeting chaired by Mr. Mohammed Bin Thawar Al Kawari, QCCI Treasury Secretary,  with a visiting Austrian delegation led by Mr. Brunomer Pottage, and in the presence of QCCI Director General, Dr. Khalid Kelaifikh Al Hajri.

Al Kawari briefed the delegation on the comprehensive development being witnessed in the State of Qatar, a matter that  made Qatar focus of businessmen from different countries, thanks to the conducive and distinguished economic atmosphere that paved the way for several international companies to enter into the Qatari market.

He stressed on boosting bilateral economic relations between Qatar and Austria.

Addressing the meeting, Mr. Pottage highlighted the Austrian economy, specially in the field of industry and tourism.

Austria, he added, has become in the past two decades one of the most influential European Union countries and a state on the top list of technological development.

He cited areas of possible cooperation, ranging between hi-tech products, services, investments, construction and legal affairs.

Mr.  Pottage also appreciated the development being witnessed by Qatar and confirmed possibility of cooperation of Austrian companies in the field of infrastructure.

QCCI Director General, Mr.Khalid Al-Hajiri, welcomed the visiting delegation, pointing out that the visit would be a favorable chance to exploit currently available investment opportunities and enhancing economic ties between the two countries.

Economic Advisor of the Austrian Embassy in Abu Dhabi, Dr. Wolfgang Bonsais, said there were more than a 100 Austrian commercial representation offices, including the Abu Dhabi-based office. He indicted several projects executed or currently being executed  by Austrian companies in the region, in different fields of construction and industry. He expressed hope that Austrian companies would engage in the bridge project, linking the State of Qatar and Kingdom of Bahrain.

At the onset of the meeting tokens were exchanged and bilateral talks were held by businessmen from the two sides, preceded by Introducing members of the Qatari and Austrian delegations.
