QCCI participated in the 1st conference on the consumer protection.

At the premises of the Sheraton Hotel, the first conference on the consumer protection was held with a very great honorable attendance and a slogan titled ’’ the consumer protection is our all responsibility’’. HE Dr. Khalid bin Mohamed AL attiya, the state minister of international cooperation and the acting minster of business and trade opened the conference.Addressing in the opening session,AL attiya said that the minister of business and trade paid great attention to the consumers by implementing awareness  programs to stress the right and safe concepts among consumers and to face the fraud and deception .  The ministry of business and trade has done too much effort during the past few weeks throughout holding meetings with the different concerned officials, including QCCI,Qatar businessmen league and representative of different commercial and marketing agencies;Al -attya added. The main purpose of these meetings is confidence –building between the concerned officials to activate the law.

Speaking in the opening session, QCCI chairman HE Sheikh Khalifa bin Jasim bin Mohamed Al thani said that the chamber is always stressing the protection of consumer as it is the optimal way to prevent the commercial fraud. The relationship between the merchant and the consumer is a close one .So, both should be put in consideration, Sheikh Khalifa added, noting that the chamber is always supporting such meetings.
