QCCI participated in NRI second international summit.

At the Intercontinental Hotel Saturday morning, the second international summit NRI was held with great participation of numbers of economic characters in Qatar and India.  Its organizers say they will work ceaselessly to foster trade ties between India and Qatar. And some of the key avenues in which Indian businessmen can invest here are real estate, energy and power. The meeting was attended by Mrs.Deepa Goplan, Indian ambassador in Qatar Seem Raaman.director of Doha Ban., Former speaker of the Indian parliament, Balram Jhakar, and India’s new and renewable energy minister Dr Farooq Abdullah also attended the meet along with a number of Indian businessmen. From the Qatari side, Mrs.Ebthag Al ahmadany, QCCI member of the board, and Mr. Mohamed Al obedly, well-known Qatari businessman, also attended the summit along with a number of Qatari businessmen.

For Qatari businessmen wanting to set up businesses in India, efforts will be made to minimize licensing procedures and paperwork, said Mohamed Sabih Bukhari (pictured).

“I already have had talks with relevant ministries in India in this regard and will keep following up on the issue,” Bukhari told this newspaper yesterday.

He was picked chairman of the Doha Chapter of New Delhi-based NGO, NRI Institute, which held the NRI Global Forum here on Friday and Saturday in cooperation with the Indian diplomatic mission. The primary objective of the Doha Chapter, said Bukhari, is to create a platform for closer interaction between the private sectors of the two countries.

He said some 65 delegates attended the two-day event here and one-to-one meetings of some of them with Qatari businessmen under the umbrella of the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry (QCCI), representative body of the Qatari private sector, were also held.

 

Al ahmadany, who received   an honor shield, said in her address that QCCI exert every effort to get Qatari businessmen closer to their counterparts from other countries. I present this honoring to QCCI which is the first house of tradesmen.

Al obedly said that on behalf of QCCI chairman and private sector I thank all attendees, wishing fruitful conclusions for discussions with Qatari businessmen.
